Editorial policy
United Film Journal aims to publish clear, careful writing about cinema culture and its surrounding design. We separate fact from interpretation, correct meaningful errors and make relevant commercial relationships visible to readers.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, descriptions and claims against appropriate material before publication, and keep context close to the point being made. Where a detail is uncertain or accounts differ, we say so rather than presenting a neat answer as settled fact.
Independence
Editorial decisions belong to the publication. A partner or contributor cannot buy a favourable editorial judgment, control a review or require an unqualified endorsement. We consider pitches on their merits and disclose relationships that could reasonably affect how a piece is read.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error, contact us with the article title and the specific detail in question. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the text clearly and add a correction note where the change materially affects the piece.
Partner material and images
Paid, gifted or otherwise arranged partner content is identified in plain language near the material. Editorial coverage remains separate from partner placements. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an illustration is generated or materially altered in that way, we label it so readers can distinguish it from documentary imagery.
